Vijayawada: The minister for IT, electronics and HRD Nara Lokesh will visit South Korea from July 5 to 11 at the invitation of the Republic of Korea as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and promote investment cooperation.Lokesh will hold a series of meetings with representatives of South Korean ministries, industry bodies and companies during the six-day visit. The invitation was extended by the Republic of Korea consul-general in Chennai Chang Nyun Kim, who said the official engagements were aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two sides. Lokesh will begin the visit with an interaction with members of the Indian diaspora, including Telugu communities, in Seoul on July 5.On July 6, he will participate in a roundtable with South Korean technology startups and hold investment discussions with companies. He is also scheduled to meet Hyosung Heavy Industries Association president Takeshi Yokota and Seoul Semiconductor vice-president Taehyung Lee.The minister will attend a dinner meeting hosted by LG Group executives at LG Towers on July 7. Senior representatives of LG Group companies are expected to participate in the discussions.
On July 8, Lokesh will take part in a roundtable meeting with representatives of the Korean Marine Equipment Association.The following day, he is scheduled to meet Korean deputy minister for political affairs Yuui-Hae Cecilia Chung and deputy minister for international trade and investment Kanchan Kang.On July 10, Lokesh will hold further investment discussions with companies and participate in a roundtable organised by the Korea Auto Industry Cooperation Agency. He will also take part in a roadshow seeking participation of Korean companies in the CII Partnership Summit-2026.Officials said the visit is aimed at attracting investments, expanding industrial partnerships and strengthening cooperation between Andhra Pradesh and South Korean industries.
