Lone Tusker Returns to Bihar Forest After 15-Hour Palamu Visit, No Damage Reported

Daltonganj: In a sigh of relief to local foresters, the lone tusker which had strayed into Hussainabad subdivision of Palamu district returned to its home forest in Rohtas in Bihar on Saturday.

The pachyderm crossed four villages during its 15 hour-long stay avoided contact with humans, forest officials said. No damages to properties, crops and injuries were reported.“The tusker had entered Hussainabad around 2 pm on Friday and returned around 5 am on Saturday. The tusker had no confrontation or conflict with humans during its 15-hour stay," Medininagar divisional forest officer Satyam Kumar told TOI.The elephant, Kumar said, crossed through Akouni, Basariya, Jharha, and Budhuwa villages before it crossed the Sone river to enter Rohtas again. Kumar said the humans did not get close to the tusker, which allowed it to remain calm.
