Lucas Di Grassi continues to express his disagreement with the new F1 rules and regulations, under which the new cars follow a hybrid format with partial combustion and partial electric powertrains.

The Lola Yamaha ABT driver has now reacted to F1 star Max Verstappen’s comment about the new F1 cars and how Formula One should stand apart from Formula E no matter what. Di Grassi’s comments about F1 and Verstappen come days before the new F1 season starts on March 8.

Lucas Di Grassi reacts to Max Verstappen

Lucas Di Grassi shared a video on Instagram and captioned it: “What do you think?”He says in the video: “So Max (Verstappen) has been saying that Formula One now is like Formula E on steroids, and actually I agree with him.

The current rules of F1 allow for a very different type of driving style compared to what they had last year, and sometimes saving is better than going flat out, and this I disagree with. I think Formula One should have the fastest cars on the planet, flat out all the time, and efficiency driving, optimization, strategy, and many other things should be done in Formula E.

So what do you think?”

Di Grassi’s fans showed their agreement with him in the comments section. One fan wrote: “I completely agree with my anointed one.” Another said: “Agree 100%.” One more added: “I agree with Max! Formula 1 is a V10 engine category, drivers driving at the limit, noise, the smell of fuel and burning tires. Anything other than that can be sustainable, ecological, evolutionary, but it’s Nutella!”

Formula E vs Formula One

Lucas Di Grassi is a Formula E veteran who has been part of the electric racing series since its inception in 2014.

The 41-year-old continues to compete on track and is also vocal when it comes to sharing his opinions on issues that matter. He has been actively raising concerns about the introduction of hybrid-focused regulations in F1 over the past few weeks. Not only Di Grassi, but Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E, also addressed the matter at the Jeddah E-Prix. Extending an invitation to Verstappen to test-drive the upcoming Formula E GEN4 Evo car, Dodds said, “I sent him a slightly tongue-in-cheek message last night. I haven't checked, but I don't think he's replied. Look, if Max wants to come and test out the GEN4 car, I think he'd be really impressed by what's coming. Open invitation, no cameras, no media, any racetrack he wants in the world.

We'll put a car on the show for him. Love it.”The next race in Formula E is the Madrid E-Prix, scheduled for March 21.Also read: Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds invites Max Verstappen to try the GEN4 car: “No cameras, no media, any racetrack he wants”
