Madhya Pradesh man kills 2nd wife over suspected affair, sleeps beside body with kids

KHARGONE: A 38-year-old man allegedly killed his second wife over suspected infidelity and then slept beside her body through the night along with their two young children in Chainpur police station limits of Khargone district in Madhya Pradesh.

Police said the accused, Jagdeesh Dabar, had earlier been married and had five children with his first wife, who left him a few years ago, taking all the children with her. He later married his sister-in-law, Rima Bai (25), and the couple had two children. The incident took place in Pichhodiya village under the Palsla Faliya area on Saturday. The dispute was triggered by his suspicion over her frequent outings. Jagdeesh got into a heated argument with Rima Bai, said sub-divisional officer of police (SDOP), Bhikangaon, Rakesh Arya. Police said Jagdeesh allegedly attacked Rima Bai with a stick, repeatedly striking her. After the assault, he reportedly lay down on a cot next to the body and slept through the night with the children in the same room. Acting on information, police reached the spot and found the accused present in the house along with the children. He was taken into custody. "The assault was very brutal. According to the postmortem report, no part of the victim's body was left without injury. She died due to excessive bleeding and multiple injuries," Arya said. A case of murder has been registered, and the accused was produced before a local court, which remanded him to judicial custody on Sunday.
