Freshly released documents linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have brought renewed focus on several high-profile names, including David Blaine and David Copperfield.

The files made public by US authorities detail past associations and communications involving Epstein who died by suicide while in federal custody. The documents place both magicians within Epstein’s social circle at different points. Neither has been charged with any offence connected to the case.

Blaine’s Trick Linked To Epstein’s Residence

One detail in the documents relates to a stunt performed by Blaine. He once swallowed live goldfish and later released them alive. The act gained attention after being shown to filmmaker Woody Allen, according to a report by CNN.

Reports citing US Justice Department records say the act was filmed inside Epstein’s New York townhouse. Emails from April 2013 show Epstein writing to Soon-Yi Previn that Blaine “wanted to do the goldfish trick tonight for Woody and film it."

Further messages from Epstein’s assistant Lesley Groff refer to Blaine returning to the residence to complete filming described as “finish his Woody Allen shoot."

Years of Contact And Social Links

Documents show Blaine and Epstein were in contact between 2012 and 2016. References also suggest Blaine attended gatherings at Epstein’s residence as early as 2003.

One video in the files appears to show Blaine performing a trick for Bill Gates at an event linked to Epstein, reporred that outlet.

Some emails show Epstein trying to introduce Blaine to political figures and discussing social plans. In a September 2015 message Epstein wrote “You missed some amazing girls last night." The documents do not provide further details.

The files also refer to a 2017 allegation against Blaine which did not lead to charges. Blaine denied the claim. Epstein later contacted him writing “I’m there if you need anything."

Copperfield’s Association Under Scrutiny

Separate records mention Copperfield as part of Epstein’s network including social interactions after his 2008 guilty plea. Photographs show him with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell on multiple occasions.

Some images appear to have been taken on Epstein’s private island Little Saint James while others were from Musha Cay in the Bahamas owned by Copperfield.

Messages from Copperfield to Epstein date back to 2005 though the full timeline of their association is not clear.

FBI Notes Raise Questions But No Charges

An internal FBI document from 2007 is also referenced. At the time Epstein was under investigation in Florida while Copperfield was being investigated over a sexual assault allegation in Washington state. He denied the allegation and no charges were filed.

According to the document investigators wanted to speak to witnesses to determine whether the relationship between Copperfield and Epstein “included illegal activities." Officials also referred to a “connection" between the two and said they wanted “to determine if they both shared a predilection for minors."

There has been no legal action against Copperfield in connection with Epstein.

No Charges Filed

The documents provide insight into Epstein’s network and interactions. Neither Blaine nor Copperfield faces any charges linked to the case. The disclosures have renewed scrutiny over Epstein’s associations with prominent figures.
