Mahana invited to West Bengal Assembly prog

Lucknow: UP Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana has been invited by the Speaker of the West Bengal Assembly to attend an orientation programme for newly elected legislators of West Bengal Assembly.The two-day programme on the theme “Parliamentary Traditions and Procedures” will be held on July 3 and 4. It aims to familiarise newly elected MLAs with parliamentary traditions, legislative procedures and democratic values through training and guidance from experts.In his invitation letter, West Bengal Assembly Speaker Rathindra Bose expressed confidence that Mahana’s distinguished presence would add dignity to the programme and enable the newly elected legislators to benefit from his parliamentary experience.Expressing his appreciation for the invite, Mahana said that the exchange of experiences among different legislatures is essential to making democratic institutions more effective and robust. He added that such orientation programmes provide newly elected representatives with a better understanding of parliamentary functioning, legislative decorum and the responsibilities of public representatives.
