A case has been registered against the three accused at Karad City Police Station
In a major crackdown on drug trafficking in Maharashtra’s Satara district, Karad City Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers and seized 95.78 grams of MD (Mephedrone) drugs, officials said.
The action was carried out after police received specific information that suspected drug traffickers were arriving in the Varunji Phata area to sell MD Mephedrone.
Acting on the tip-off, a police team laid a trap and detained three suspects identified as Sameer Gulab Shaikh, Nazar Mohammad Arif Mulla and Fardeen Dadapir Shaikh.
During the operation, officers recovered 95.78 grams of MDMephedrone valued at approximately Rs 2.87 lakh.
Police also seized three mobile phones and an Innova car from the accused. The total value of the seized drugs and other property has been estimated at Rs 18.82 lakh.
A case has been registered against the three accused at Karad City Police Station under Sections 8(c), 21(a) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Further investigation is underway.
