Malkajgiri railway station likely to get additional platform

Hyderabad Division Railway Manager (DRM) Santosh Kumar Verma has directed officials to explore the feasibility of constructing an additional platform at the Malkajgiri East terminal, where goods trains are currently stationed. The directive was issued during his inspection visit on Wednesday.

The DRM reviewed the ongoing redevelopment works at the station which currently has three platforms. Improvements to platforms, passenger shelters, lifts, foot overbridges, and parking facilities are being undertaken. He was accompanied by ZRUCC (zonal railway users consultative committee) member Noor and DRUCC (divisional railway users consultative committee) member P. Bharadwaj. As part of the station’s upgrade, a new Railway Protection Force office and a VIP lounge are also under construction, said a press release.
