The Mamata Banerjee-led faction of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday expelled former Kolkata mayor Firhad Hakim.

Besides Firhad Hakim, the other leaders expelled include Javed Ahmed Khan, Aroop Roy, Rathin Ghosh, Biplab Mitra, Sabina Yasmin, Aroop Biswas and Snehasis Chakraborty.

Earlier in the day, the AITC had issued show-cause notices to these leaders over “anti-party" activities.
