Man booked under POCSO Act in Tirupati for molesting minor niece from Hyderabad

Tirupati: A 16-year-old minor girl from Hyderabad was allegedly molested multiple times by her paternal uncle in Tirupati. The incident came to light after the minor returned to Hyderabad recently and confided in her parents, who immediately lodged a complaint at Jagathgiri Gutta police station in Hyderabad.

A case was booked under various sections of the POCSO Act and transferred to Tirupati East police station under Zero FIR.Tirupati East CI K Srinivasulu said the minor girl came to spend the school holidays at her paternal uncle’s house in Tirupati recently. “The accused, who is a govt employee, reportedly blackmailed the girl by threatening to circulate her pictures that were taken without her knowledge and allegedly molested her multiple times. After she returned to Hyderabad, her parents found her staying aloof and depressed all the time.

When they enquired, the traumatised girl told them what she went through. We will arrest the accused soon,” he said.
