Man Breaks Into Ex-Wife’s Hyderabad Home, Stabs Her to Death Over Domestic Violence Case

The man also blamed the 29-year-old woman, who was also employed at an IT firm, for his mother’s death.

The incident happened in an area under Vanasthalipuram police station limits when the accused entered the victim’s residence when she was alone and allegedly attacked her with a knife, resulting in her instant death.

The police reached the spot after receiving information and found the accused hiding in a room of the house. Following this, he was taken into custody.

The woman had divorced the accused and had a second marriage a year ago, news agency PTI informed. Both the accused and the victim were stated to be in their 30s.

In March 2025, the man returned to India after his mother’s death. An official reported that a look-out circular had been issued against him due to a domestic violence case, leading to the suspension of his passport, preventing his return to Canada.

He was unemployed, residing at his parents’ home in Telangana’s Peddapalli district.

The police stated that the man believed he and his family had suffered mentally because of his ex-wife and felt his mother’s death was a result of this distress.

Determined to kill his ex-wife, he found her address through her social media accounts and moved to Hyderabad two months ago, staying in a hostel.

On Wednesday, he went to the woman’s apartment with a bag containing two knives, a drilling machine, and a can with five litres of petrol, as reported by NDTV.

He forced his way into his former wife’s residence, entered the room she was in, and locked it from the inside. He then fatally stabbed her multiple times in the head.

At the time, the woman’s mother-in-law was on the balcony. Family members contacted the police, who arrived at the scene to find the man had poured petrol around the room and locked himself in the toilet.
