Man caught in electrified fence dies in Andhra

In a tragic incident, a shepherd died after being caught in an electrified fence meant to keep wild boars away.

The incident happened in Yerravaripalem mandal of Tirupati district in the late hours of Sunday (April 5, 2026). The deceased was identified as Subramanyam, a resident of the local ST Colony.

He was believed to have gone to the nearby hillocks in search of his missing goat. When he did not return, his family members, who went in search of him, found his body ensnared in an electric trap meant for wild boars.

Yerravaripalem police have registered a case and are investigating.
