Man dies as vehicle hits him

Bhopal: An unidentified man, believed to be around 30 years old, died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Bhopal bypass near LNCT College under Bilkhiria police station limits in the early hours of Wednesday.Police said they received information around 1 am that a man’s body was lying on the road near the college. A police team rushed to the spot and found the victim dead. During the search, police did not find any identity documents on the deceased. The body was sent for post-mortem after registering a case.Preliminary investigation suggests the victim, who appeared to be a labourer, was crossing the road on foot when he was hit by a speeding vehicle. He suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot. Bilkhiria police have circulated the deceased’s description to nearby police stations in an effort to establish his identity. Further investigation is underway to identify the victim and trace the offending vehicle.
