Man gets life imprisonment for murdering friend in a fit of rage 

Fifth District Judge G. Ram Gopal sentenced a man to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹10,000 for murdering his friend in an inebriated state.

In December 2022, one Guntur Akhil Kumar (22) was found dead at his residence under Tirupati West police limits. Investigation by the then Circle Inspector found that one Somasekhar (29) who was in an intoxicated condition got into a brawl with the deceased and later killed him in a fit of rage.

Based on the evidence provided by the public prosecutor M. Balakrishnama Naidu, the Judge delivered the verdict on Monday. The convict was also awarded another year in prison and ₹1,000 fine for trying to mislead the prosecution.
