Man held for cheating people with overseas tour packages

The Cuddalore Cybercrime police arrested a 36-year-old man on charges of cheating 18 persons of ₹5.82 lakh by promising them overseas holiday packages.

According to Cybercrime police, the accused identified as Harihara Sudhan of Tiruppur district, advertised attractive offers of holidays to Thailand online and collected huge sums of money from individuals and groups.

Harihara Sudhan allegedly collected ₹5.82 lakh from Paramasivam of Neyveli and his friends after promising them a package for Thailand. Sudhan did not arrange the trip and failed to return the money. Following a complaint lodged by Paramasivam, the Cybercrime police tracked Sudhan to Tiruppur and arrested him.

Police said the accused had promised fancy overseas holiday packages and cheated several persons in Chennai and Madurai.
