In a dramatic turn of events, Bihar police have arrested Aman Kumar in the Buxar district on accusations of communicating with a foreign intelligence site, seeking a payoff to breach the security of the Indian Prime Minister. Central agencies took swift action, leading to a thorough investigation of the electronic devices taken from his home.
Patna: The Bihar police took a man into custody from Araria village under the Simri police station area in Buxar district late Wednesday night for allegedly sending a message to a foreign intelligence agency’s website and demanding money in exchange for compromising the security of the Indian PM.According to police sources, the accused has been identified as Aman Kumar. The police seized laptops and other electronic devices from his home and sealed the room where he lived. The investigation is ongoing, with police examining the devices for evidence. However, the family claimed they were unaware of his activities.Buxar SP Shubham Arya said, “Aman is suspected to hack and leave a message on the website of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of United States of America.
In the message, Aman allegedly demanded money from CIA and claimed to eliminate the Indian PM in exchange. We were informed by our central agencies to probe the matter. Aman has been taken into custody for interrogation.”However, Aman’s father Ganesh Tiwari said they were unaware of any such threats. He said some people in plain clothes took his son from home. They did not mention anything.According to police sources, Aman has been embroiled in controversies earlier as well. In 2022, he was arrested by a joint team of Kolkata and Buxar police in a case of threatening to hack Kolkata airport. However, since this time the matter is linked to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the police are exercising considerable caution and are refraining from sharing more information.
