Given the sensitivity of the matter, joint interrogation was conducted with Special Cell, IB, and the concerned central agency.

The accused claimed to have contacted certain persons in Delhi for arranging jobs but failed to produce any concrete proof or documentation in support of his claims.
A person was apprehended in Delhi for allegedly cheating job seekers by posing as a legitimate recruiter using a forged identity card.
The incident came to light on February 18, when a team from Kotwali Police Station, during routine patrolling, spotted a black Hyundai Santro parked under suspicious circumstances behind the Red Fort near Delhi Chalo Park.
Upon checking the vehicle, police found two occupants inside — one identified as Mudassar, a resident of Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, and the other a minor.
During preliminary inquiry, Mudassar produced an identity card purportedly issued by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). However, the card appeared suspicious at first glance. Both individuals were subsequently brought to Police Station Kotwali for detailed questioning.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused is a resident of Jammu & Kashmir and had been targeting economically vulnerable families by promising employment opportunities in Delhi in exchange for money.
He had assured the minor boy’s family that he would arrange a job for him in Delhi and had taken an advance payment before bringing him along. They left Kashmir on February 12 and reached Delhi on the night of February 13, where they stayed at a guest house in the Jama Masjid area.
The accused claimed to have contacted certain persons in Delhi for arranging jobs but failed to produce any concrete proof or documentation in support of his claims. During joint interrogation, it was established that the identity card presented by him was forged and that no such card is issued by the concerned agency.
Given the sensitivity of the matter, joint interrogation was conducted with Special Cell, IB, and the concerned central agency. Based on the Joint Interrogation Report (JIR), it has been concluded that the accused had been impersonating an official using a forged identity card and cheating common people on the pretext of providing jobs.
Accordingly, a case has been registered at PS Kotwali under Sections 319(2)/339 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (corresponding to Sections 419/474 IPC). Further investigation is underway.
