Man held with 9kg heroin worth Rs 10 crore

A case was registered at the Civil Lines police station in Bhiwani under Section 21(C) of the NDPS Act

Gurgaon: A suspected drug trafficker was arrested, and almost 9 kg of heroin worth Rs 10 crore was seized from his rented house in Bhiwani in a raid conducted by a special task force unit.The accused, Rohit, a resident of Pirawali village in Hisar, allegedly stocked a large quantity of heroin, also known as chitta, in his rented house in Indra Colony, Bhiwani, and was supplying the contraband in small packets from there. The contraband was found hidden inside a cupboard in his house.Acting on a tip-off, the STF team conducted a raid under the provisions of the NDPS Act in the presence of a duty magistrate.A case was registered at the Civil Lines police station in Bhiwani under Section 21(C) of the NDPS Act.The accused revealed that he brought large consignments of the drug from the Haryana-Punjab border area nearly eight to nine times over the past six months and supplied them through his associates in Bhiwani, Hisar and Jind, cops said.They suspect the accused has trafficked more than 20 kg of heroin during this period.The accused will be produced before a Bhiwani court and taken on remand for further questioning.DSP Preet Pal said they are now probing the larger supply network and trying to identify other traffickers linked to the racket.
