Man injured in attack by fellow passenger on train

A 25-year-old man from Vaniyamkulam was injured after being attacked by a fellow passenger aboard the Ernakulam-Karaikal Tea Garden Express in the early hours of Saturday.

The victim, Jishnu, sustained cut injuries to his leg when an elderly passenger allegedly attacked him with a knife. According to the police, the accused was drunk.

Jishnu was returning home from Ernakulam in a crowded coach when he accidentally stepped on the elderly man, who was sleeping on the floor, while attempting to get off the train. Enraged by the incident, the man allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked him.
