Manali’s iconic Sher-e-Punjab restaurant, a landmark spot for tourists and locals, was almost completely destroyed by floodwaters as heavy rains wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh, with only its front entrance intact.

Shops were washed away, buildings collapsed, highways were cut off, and residential areas were inundated as heavy rain triggered fresh landslides and flash floods at several places in Himachal Pradesh, according to officials.

A video went viral on social media, showing only the front side of Manali’s Sher-e-Punjab intact, while the remaining portion of the building was washed away in the flash floods in the area. The restaurant is located close to the Beas river, which was flowing above the danger mark due to heavy rainfall.

The restaurant has built a strong reputation for its authentic North Indian cuisine. Over the years, it has attracted a host of notable guests, including Bollywood celebrities and renowned athletes. More recently, it has become a favorite among food vloggers and social media influencers, further boosting its popularity.
