It’s double delight for Ange Postecoglou, and managerial mayhem at the City Ground again.

Nottingham Forest have sacked Sean Dyche after just 114 days and 17 matches in charge, making him the club’s third managerial casualty of a chaotic season.

The news dropped barely three hours after Forest’s drab 0-0 draw at home to bottom-placed Wolves. The stalemate left them hovering just three points above the relegation zone with 12 games remaining, and owner Evangelos Marinakis has once again pulled the trigger.

Forest are now searching for their fourth manager of the campaign.

Axe Falls After Wolves Stalemate

The decision follows a three-game winless run that included draws with Crystal Palace and Wolves, plus a damaging 3-1 defeat to relegation rivals Leeds. Against Wolves, Forest fired 35 shots but couldn’t find a breakthrough — and were booed off at full-time.

Dyche, 54, sensed what was coming.

“The owner has been fair to me, without a shadow of a doubt," he said after the game. “If anyone chooses to change in football now, that’s their decision. We’ve all seen it.

“If the owner wants to make a change, then that’s up to him, and that’s the way football is now, that’s just the reality of it."

A Season of Chaos

Dyche follows Nuno Espirito Santo — who guided Forest into the Europa League last season before a fallout over transfers — and Ange Postecoglou, whose reign lasted just 39 days.

Now Marinakis must roll the dice again.

Up next: a Europa League trip to Fenerbahce on February 19, followed by Liverpool at home.
