BHOPAL: In a shocker from Sanwaga village of Madhya Pradesh’s Betul district, a 30-year-old man allegedly killed his parents and younger brother, along with his pet cat, while also injuring his five-year-old nephew on Thursday.The suspect, Deepak Dhurve , was taken into custody from the spot. The deceased were identified as his father Raju alias Hansu Dhurve (55), mother Kamalti Dhurve (40), and younger sibling Dilip Dhurve (40). The fiveyear-old boy, Prashant Parte, sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment in hospital. Neighbours said they grew suspicious when the door of the house remained open till Thursday afternoon and there was no response from inside. After repeated knocks went unanswered, villagers forced the door open. They found Deepak sitting quietly near the three bodies. Blood stains were seen splattered across the floor and walls.A dead cat was also found inside the house, which the police suspect may have been killed during the incident. Family members said Deepak had once topped his Class 12 examinations and was considered a bright student. However, after completing his studies, he remained at home and had been preparing for government jobs, including recruitment in the CRPF, but was not selected.
Relatives said repeated setbacks had affected him. Neighbours told police that Deepak had been undergoing treatment for mental health issues over the past four to five years and had recently returned from Nagpur after medical consultation.
