Minister-in-charge for Palnadu district, Gottipati Ravi Kumar distributed subsidised tractors, drip irrigation systems and agricultural equipment to farmers and handed over subsidised autorickshaws to beneficiaries under the DRDA-Velugu programme during his visit to Narasaraopet on Sunday.
The Minister participated in the coalition government’s second anniversary celebrations and visited exhibition stalls showcasing the administration’s achievements over the past two years.
Addressing party workers and beneficiaries, Mr. Ravi Kumar said the coalition government had fulfilled all promises made while in the opposition and was committed to balancing welfare initiatives with economic development. He urged party cadre to take the government’s development programmes to the people.
Highlighting welfare measures, he said the State was spending ₹33,000 crore annually on pensions and had transferred ₹10,000 crore in a single day under the ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme. He also said the government had strengthened public education by filling over 16,000 posts through the DSC recruitment process.
Criticising YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Minister accused the previous government of stalling the Amaravati capital project and the Polavaram irrigation project. He asserted that no electricity tariff burden had been imposed during the coalition government’s tenure and promised industrial development in Palnadu, including the establishment of two compressed biogas plants and the promotion of horticulture.
District Collector Kritika Shukla said Palnadu had emerged as the State's top-performing district in implementing Central schemes such as Jal Jeevan Mission and PM Surya Ghar. She said ₹397.46 crore had been credited to the accounts of mothers of 2.64 lakh students under the Talliki Vandanam scheme, while ₹455.43 crore had been extended to 2.4 lakh farmers under Annadata Sukhibhava.
