Telangana Mineral Development Corporation (TGMDC) Chairman E. Anil Kumar has condemned the alleged comments made against BC leaders from the Congress, including against TPCC chief B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, by Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he termed the remarks “extremely unfortunate” and questioned the motive behind them.

The former MLA sought to know whether the comments were intended to undermine the leadership of Mr. Goud, a BC leader. Mr. Anil said that Mr. Venkat Reddy attempted to belittle Mr. Goud with his alleged remarks that the Congress would win 100 seats only if former MLA and TPCC working president T Jagga Reddy is made TPCC president.

Mr. Anil also criticised Mr. Venkat Reddy, stating that his ‘demand’ to offer the TPCC post to a leader from the Reddy community should be seen as an attempt to create divisions within the party. The BC leader further said that under Mr. Goud’s leadership, the Congress had performed well in recent elections, including the by-election and local body elections.

Mr. Anil also pointed out that the Minister had earlier tried to prevent Ponna Kailash from assuming the post of Nalgonda DCC president, which, he said, reflected Mr. Venkat Reddy’s anti-BC attitude.
