Patna: Panchayati Raj minister Deepak Prakash on Thursday met Anita Toppo, the mukhiya of Telkap panchayat, which brought laurels to the state through its outstanding performance in the national panchayat awards.Congratulating Toppo, the minister said other panchayats in Bihar should take inspiration from Telkap and work towards public welfare and sustainable development. He also emphasised the need for panchayats to develop their own revenue sources to become self-reliant. Prakash said he would soon visit the panchayat to review its development initiatives.Toppo recently secured second place in the prestigious ‘Nanaji Deshmukh Best Panchayat Sustainable Development Award’ category under the national panchayat awards. During the meeting, discussions were also held on clean drinking water, sanitation, and ongoing development works in the panchayat.
