Minor Hits Two-Wheeler With His Car In Mumbai’s Vidyavihar, Couple Critical

The victims’ family has alleged that the accused often performed stunts using the same car and uploaded videos on social media.

A hit-and-run incident involving a minor was reported at Pipeline Road near Vidyavihar station, where a 17-year-old driving a Kia Seltos allegedly rammed into a two-wheeler on Sunday.

The two-wheeler was being ridden by a couple, Dhrumil and Minal Patel, who were travelling on an Activa. Both sustained critical injuries and are currently undergoing treatment, family sources said.

Following the incident, family members and friends of the victims launched a social media campaign, drawing parallels between the case and the Pune Porsche incident.

According to police sources, the accused minor has been sent to a remand home.

Further investigation is underway, though the police have declined to comment on the matter on camera.

The Pune Porsche crash occurred on May 19, 2024, when a 17-year-old, allegedly driving a Porsche car under the influence of alcohol, hit a man and a woman on a motorbike in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area. Both victims, Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, died on the spot.

The juvenile’s parents, along with government hospital doctors and others, were later arrested for allegedly trying to tamper with his blood samples to indicate that he was not intoxicated at the time of the crash.
