Miscreants torch Thar in Gurgaon village; fire engulfs WagonR, damages house

GURGAON: Panic gripped Sidhrawali village in the Pataudi area after unidentified miscreants set a Mahindra Thar on fire late Sunday night, with the flames also engulfing a nearby Maruti WagonR and damaging a house.The incident occurred around midnight when the Thar, parked outside a house, was set ablaze. The fire quickly spread to the WagonR parked close by, reducing both vehicles to ashes. As the vehicles were parked near the house, the intense flames also caused damage to the structure.The Thar’s owner, Raman Yadav, said he was asleep with his family when they heard a commotion outside. “When we rushed out, the Thar was already burning fiercely.

Within moments, the WagonR also caught fire. Despite our efforts, we could not control the blaze,” he said.Yadav immediately informed the police and lodged a complaint against unknown persons. He also said that a few months ago, the windows of his Thar were broken, and a complaint was filed at that time as well, but no action followed.The incident has triggered fear among local residents. Police officials said they are examining CCTV footage from the area and recording statements of witnesses to identify the culprits. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway.
