Most wanted gangster Sahil Chauhan deported from Thailand, STF to take custody

In a major breakthrough for Indian security agencies, most wanted gangster Sahil Chauhan is being brought to India after being deported from Thailand. According to officials, Chauhan will arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, where he will be taken into custody by the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) immediately upon landing on Saturday.

Chauhan, a notorious figure in organised crime, is also wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with multiple cases. He is believed to be a key member of the gang led by Kaushal Chaudhary, who is currently lodged in a Haryana jail.

Investigators allege that Chauhan played a significant role in orchestrating several contract killings in India while operating from abroad. His activities had made him a high-priority target for law enforcement agencies.

Sources said that Chauhan was recently detained overseas following coordinated efforts by central agencies and the Haryana Police. His deportation marks a crucial step in ongoing attempts to dismantle transnational criminal networks linked to Indian gangs.

Officials added that extensive security arrangements have been put in place at the Delhi airport ahead of his arrival. After being taken into custody, Chauhan is expected to be produced before a court and may be taken to Haryana for further interrogation.

The deportation is being seen as a significant success for Indian authorities, highlighting increased international cooperation in tackling organised crime and bringing fugitives to justice.
