Mother kills two minor children in Odisha, attempts suicide

BHUBANESWAR: A woman allegedly killed her two minor children in Odisha’s Jharsuguda town in an incident police suspect was linked to a domestic dispute.The incident occurred on Saturday night.The accused, identified as Ranjita Oram, is alleged to have murdered her five-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter at their residence. Following the incident, she reportedly attempted to take her own life using a conventional vegetable cutter, police said.Both children were found dead at the scene. Police reached the spot and took the woman into custody.Preliminary investigation suggests that a domestic dispute may have triggered the incident, though the exact motive is yet to be ascertained.A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
