 17-year-old boy tied to tree, beaten to death over relationship with minor girl; 4 detained

INDORE: A 17-year-old boy was beaten to death on Friday night in Namli town of Ratlam district after he was caught meeting a girl he was reportedly in a relationship with. The parents of the girl (also a minor), allegedly caught the boy and tonsured his head before tying him to a tree and beating him brutally.Ratlam ASP Rakesh Khaka said four people, including the girl's father, have been detained, and further investigations are on. A case of murder was registered. He said the incident occurred in Mevasa village, where the deceased went to meet a girl."The deceased is said to have come in contact with the girl through a social networking site, and some chats were also found on their phones. The girl had called the boy to meet at a temple near her house around 11:00 pm, where he was caught by her family members who learnt about it," said ASP Khaka.

The family members allegedly attacked the boy upon his arrival.Police received information about the incident around 2:30 am. SDOP (Rural) Kishore Patanwala rushed to the spot and sent the body to Ratlam Medical College for a post-mortem, which was conducted on Saturday morning. The father of the deceased boy said that he had no idea when his son left the house and claimed that the girl called him to meet. He alleged that the girl's father and nearly 8 to 10 others tied him to a tree and beat him up, and shaved his head before killing him.
