Mumbai Rains LIVE Updates: The southwest monsoon finally hit Mumbai on Tuesday, 13 days after its normal onset date, bringing much- needed relief from the sweltering heat.

Mumbai Rains, Maharashtra Monsoon 2026 LIVE Updates: Heavy rain lashed Mumbai through the night, with the India Meteorological Department issuing a red alert for the city, its suburbs and Palghar district on Wednesday. Thane district is under an orange alert, while Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg have been placed under a yellow alert.

The alert was downgraded to an orange alert at 7 am for the next three hours, with moderate to intense spells of rain forecast for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Palghar and Sindhudurg districts.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reported significant rainfall across Mumbai between 8 pm on June 23 and 6 am on June 24. According to the civic body, the island city recorded 184 mm of rainfall during the period, while the eastern suburbs received 154 mm and the western suburbs registered the highest rainfall at 190 mm.
