Senior Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader M.K. Muneer has expressed the hope that Kozhikode district will get a ministerial berth in the United Democratic Front (UDF) government to be sworn in Kerala in the coming days.

Addressing the media here on Wednesday (May 13), he said that the high-powered committee of the party had discussed the names to be proposed as Ministers. “IUML State president Panakkad Syed Sadikali Shihab Thangal has been authorised to take a final call on the issue. There are six MLAs-elect from Kozhikode. We expect that the district will get the recognition it deserves,” he said.

Mr. Muneer claimed that all the IUML candidates had found acceptance among the voters, which was evident in the high majority of votes they managed to get in the elections. The six MLAs-elect from Kozhikode district were honoured at the event organised by the IUML district committee.
