An Agniveer recruitment rally will be held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Mysuru from April 19 to 27, with a total of 6,235 candidates set to participate.

Colonel Vivek Jamadar, Recruitment Officer of the Indian Army, Bengaluru, addressed a preparatory meeting of officials at the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, here on Monday (April 6). Colonel Jamadar said that the written examination for the recruitment process had been conducted in June last year, and the second phase of the selection process — the screening and physical tests — will commence from April 19.

Out of the total participants, 6,043 are men and 192 are women. Around 800 candidates will be assessed through physical and related tests. Only those who qualify in the physical round will proceed to the medical examination. The rally for women candidates is scheduled for April 27.

Accommodation arrangements for the candidates have been made at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry. Each participant is expected to stay for one or two days during the selection process, the Colonel added.

Colonel Jamadar instructed the Health Department to arrange ambulances, doctors, medical staff, and essential medicines during the rally. The Mysuru City Corporation has been tasked with providing drinking water, temporary toilets, and sanitation facilities, while the Police Department will ensure security. Nirmiti Kendra has been tasked to arrange necessary tents and CCTV arrangements.

Stating that large-scale recruitment into the Indian Army is expected to continue until around 2030, he urged the youth to apply in large numbers and take part in the selection process.

Arrangements will be made for high school students, National Cadet Corps, and National Service Scheme cadets to visit and observe the rally to create awareness and interest among students. The School Education Department will be informed to facilitate student participation.

Major Kapil Kumar Sharma, Medical Officer of the Army Recruitment Office; Subedar Major Sham Singh, Deputy Recruitment Officer; Manjunath Reddy, Deputy Director of the Sainik Welfare Department; Dr. Gopinath from the Health Department; and Bhaskar, Assistant Director of Youth Empowerment and Sports Department, were present.
