Naidu offers ‘silk vastram’ to Vontimitta temple

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu continued the tradition of presenting a ‘silk vastram’ on behalf of the State government to Sri Kodandarama temple at Vontimitta, ahead of the annual ‘Sita Rama Kalyanotsavam’.

Accompanied by his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari, Mr. Naidu handing over the vastram to the temple priests and officials.

On the occasion, the Tirumala Sri Venkateswara temple presented golden ‘Mukha Patti’, a gift weighing 1 kg and a silver pot weighing nearly 2 kg to Kodandarama temple as a wedding gift. It is a tradition for the Tirumala temple to send gifts to the TTD-affiliated temples during the annual Brahmotsavam.

Earlier, Mr. Naidu was accorded a traditional reception by the temple priests led by TTD Trust Board Chairman B.R. Naidu, Executive Officer M. Ravichandra and Joint Executive Officer V. Veerabrahmam among others.

After having darshan of the presiding deity, the Chief Minister was presented a ‘sesha vastram’, while the Vedic scholars offered him ‘Vedasirvachanam’ (Vedic blessings).
