Collector Sridhar Cherukuri inspects the centralised smart kitchen getting ready at Chintakommadinne in Kadapa district on Friday.

Minister for IT and HRD Nara Lokesh will formally inaugurate the centralised smart kitchen project at the Zilla Parishad High School in Chintakommadinne mandal, Kadapa district, on September 2.

The Minister will also launch the Dokka Seethamma midday meal scheme, through which students from nearby schools will receive nutritious and delicious meals prepared at this centralised kitchen.

The initiative was initially proposed by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who allocated ₹10 lakh under the midday meal scheme, with additional funds provided from the district development fund to establish the facility.

District Collector Sridhar Cherukuri, accompanied by Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan State Director Srinivasa Rao, inspected the kitchen shed on Friday and instructed officials to expedite preparations to ensure timely completion.

The kitchen complex will include a warehouse for storing groceries, vegetables, cutlery, and other cooking essentials, as well as a mini solar power unit. To manage waste efficiently, leftover food and vegetable peels will be used to generate methane gas through biodegradation. Operating under a hub-and-spoke model, the activities of the integrated kitchen can be monitored via a mobile app. Ahead of the inauguration, the Collector reviewed security and logistical arrangements to ensure smooth conduct during the visit of several VVIPs and public representatives.

Revenue Divisional Officer John Irwin, AGROS District Manager Joel Vijaykumar, and SSA engineering officials were also present.
