Jamal Murray detonated for 52 points to lift the Denver Nuggets to a 135–120 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, extending Denver’s sizzling road streak to eight straight victories.
Despite entering the night questionable with a right-ankle sprain, Murray delivered one of the most efficient scoring performances in NBA history — drilling 10 of 11 three-pointers and shooting 19-of-25 from the field, marking his fifth career 50-point game, including playoffs.
“It’s not just the 52, it’s the efficiency," Nuggets coach David Adelman said. “Nineteen of 25, 10-for-11 from three… that’s insane. It has to be one of the most efficient 50-point games ever."
Nikola Jokic added 24 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists as Denver broke the game open with a 22–3 run to close the second quarter. The Pacers battled hard despite a growing injury list amid a tough stretch following their NBA Finals run last season.
Bucks rally after Giannis exits early
Milwaukee overcame the early loss of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who exited three minutes in with a right calf strain, to erase an 18-point deficit and beat the Detroit Pistons 113–109.
Giannis walked off under his own power but was ruled out, and coach Doc Rivers said the star was undergoing an MRI while stressing the team did not believe it was an Achilles injury.
The injury arrived on the same day ESPN reported Antetokounmpo was “mulling his future," adding more fuel to ongoing trade speculation.
Rivers pushed back, saying there have been “no conversations" about a move.
“It was a hell of a win," Rivers said. “We’re down early, Giannis goes out, and we still fight back — that says a lot about this team."
Shorthanded Spurs edge Magic
The San Antonio Spurs, playing without Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle, squeezed out a 114-112 win in Orlando behind 31 points from De’Aaron Fox, who hit the go-ahead free throws with 1.4 seconds left.
Franz Wagner’s last-second layup attempt was blocked by Luke Kornet to seal the victory.
Clippers snap skid amid Chris Paul fallout
In Atlanta, the Los Angeles Clippers halted a five-game slide by beating the Hawks 115–92, just hours after announcing the abrupt departure of veteran guard Chris Paul.
James Harden finished with 27 points and nine assists, while Kawhi Leonard added 21 points, six rebounds and five assists as the Clippers secured only their sixth win of the season.
