NEET Re-examination Date Announced: June 21 for Medical Entrance Test Amidst Paper Leak Allegations

Ranchi/Jamshedpur: After the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday announced that the NEET re-examination will be held on June 21, students and coaching institutes have once again begun preparing for another intense round of the country’s premier medical entrance test.

The original exam, conducted on May 3, was cancelled following allegations of a paper leak.Students expressed mixed emotions, balancing renewed hope with anxiety over the possibility of further disruptions. NEET aspirant Adarsh said, “My focus now is to avoid the mistakes I made earlier and secure a good score, as I have another opportunity.”Another city-based aspirant, Tamanna Singh, said, “I missed several questions in the earlier exam because of time constraints.

This time, I will ensure that does not happen again.”Frahad Illiyas, another candidate, said he had already resumed preparations. “I am focusing on maximum test series and self-study,” he said.Pankaj Singh, who heads a coaching institute, said refresher courses for students have already begun. “We are conducting test series followed by doubt-clearing sessions with teachers. The library has also been opened for students to study,” he said.

However, some students voiced disappointment over repeated paper leaks and cancellations. Shambhavi Tewari, a national topper in this year’s ISC (Class 12) examinations, said, “In the May 3 examination, I was expecting around 684 out of 720 marks. Such a score could have secured me admission to one of the country’s top govt medical colleges. After the leak, I now have to appear for the examination again with full energy.

Repeating a strong performance is not easy.”Another aspirant, Shuvam Nandi, said, “For the govt, announcing a fresh exam date may seem routine, but for students, it is mentally exhausting. Over the past two years, I studied for more than 14 hours a day to prepare for NEET. I was very satisfied with my performance on May 3.”
