The NEET-UG re-examination was conducted amidst high security in 14 centres of Shivamogga on Sunday (June 21).

Out of 4,883 students who registered to write the exam in the city, 3,728 turned up and 1,155 remained absent. Deputy Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalikatti told The Hindu that the re-examination was conducted smoothly in all centres.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Kavalikatti and Superintendent of Police B. Nikhil visited exam centres in the city, inspected the preparations, and gave instructions to the officials regarding the exam duty.

The district administration had made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the re-examination. Prohibitory orders were enforced within a 200-meter radius of the centres during exam hours.
