Anti-Hindu Hate Monitoring Centre launched in the UK to log anti-Hindu incidents, address underreporting, publish data, and push for more detailed hate crime categorisation.

Anti-Hindu Hate Monitoring Centre launched in the UK to log anti-Hindu incidents.
A new platform aimed at monitoring and documenting anti-Hindu hate incidents in the United Kingdom has been launched, with organisers saying it will help track discrimination, hostility and hate crimes targeting the Hindu community.
The initiative, called the Anti-Hindu Hate Monitoring Centre (AHHMC), was unveiled in the UK amid growing calls for better reporting mechanisms and stronger recognition of anti-Hindu prejudice.
According to those behind the platform, the centre will collect complaints, record incidents and publish data to improve understanding of patterns of hate directed at Hindus across Britain. The organisation said victims often underreport such experiences and that existing systems do not always capture anti-Hindu bias effectively.
Supporters of the initiative argue that a dedicated monitoring mechanism is necessary following concerns raised by sections of the Hindu community over harassment, vandalism and online abuse.
The launch follows debates in the UK around religiously motivated hate incidents, including tensions linked to protests and communal disturbances reported in recent years.
Organisers said the platform will work with community groups, legal experts and policymakers to encourage reporting and increase awareness of anti-Hindu discrimination.
The move has also renewed discussion over whether anti-Hindu hate should be tracked separately within broader hate-crime categories, similar to monitoring systems focused on antisemitism or anti-Muslim discrimination.
The UK government records hate crimes based on religion, race and other protected characteristics, though campaigners have argued for more granular categorisation to better identify specific trends affecting different communities.
The new monitoring centre is expected to publish periodic reports and data on reported incidents, with supporters saying evidence-based tracking could inform future policy discussions.
