CFC's squad for the upcoming season of the ISL highlights Chennaiyin's continued faith in players developed within the club's system.

Chennaiyin FC has announced a 29-man squad for the Indian Super League 2025-26 season. The Marina Machans will kick off their campaign with four consecutive away matches, starting with a game against Mumbai City FC on February 19.

New signings Imran Khan and Alberto Noguera will wear the numbers 7 and 14, respectively, this season. Midfielder Mohammed Ali Bemammer will don the number 66 jersey, while centre-back Eduardo Kau will wear number 33. Spaniard Inigo Martin is set to lead the attack in the iconic number 10 shirt.

There are a few notable changes from last season. Irfan Yadwad has switched to number 24, Jitendra Singh has chosen the number 3 shirt, and Lalrinliana Hnamte has moved from 22 to 8.

In goal, Chennaiyin begins the season with Mohammad Nawaz, Samik Mitra, and Devansh Dabas, providing healthy competition and depth. The defensive unit combines leadership, athleticism, and versatility. The Marina Machans aim to build on a core group of key players from the previous campaign who understand the league’s demands, complemented by new additions who bring both physical presence and composure.

The club’s six foreign professionals add experience and variety across defence and attack, with Daniel Chima Chukwu returning after making 24 appearances last season. Irfan, Chennaiyin’s top appearance-maker last season with 25 outings, will once again be central to the team’s attacking efforts, supported by a midfield that offers creativity, energy, and balance.

The squad also highlights Chennaiyin’s continued faith in players developed within the club’s system. Prakadeswaran S and Jahangir Ahmad Shagoo have been promoted to the senior team, while Vivek S retains his place in the first-team setup.
