Newlywed from Kottur found dead in Uganda

Vijayanagara: A 22-year-old woman from Kannanayakanakatte village in Kottur taluk was found dead at her residence in Kampala, Uganda, on June 27. Her body is expected to arrive in Bengaluru on Thursday after the completion of legal formalities.The deceased was identified as Bindu H Ajjol, the only daughter of late A Halappa and Manjula. She had married Chandrashekhar Gutti in a love marriage on June 7, 2025. The couple later moved to Kampala after securing jobs with a private company and had been residing there since July last year.According to family members, Bindu was in regular touch with her mother and spoke to her on the phone every day. On the day of the incident, she reportedly called her husband and asked him to return home for lunch.

When he arrived, he found her hanging. She was immediately rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.The incident prompted the intervention of Shivamurthy Shivacharya Swamiji of Taralabalu Peetha in Sirigere, who is currently visiting Germany. After learning about the tragedy, the seer coordinated with the Indian Embassy in Uganda and directed officials to expedite the formalities required for repatriating the body.

The postmortem and other legal procedures have been completed in Kampala. Bindu’s body was scheduled to depart Uganda on an Emirates flight via Dubai on the night of July 1 and is expected to reach Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Thursday.
