New Delhi: Philips has recently introduced its latest Evina 27M2N5500XD gaming monitor in China. This display runs at 500Hz at its native resolution. And it also reaches 1,000Hz, beating the 720Hz OLED gaming monitors announced recently. The 27-inch screen uses the TCL CSOT’s HFS Shoot IPS panel, a similar technology was found at the AOC AGON AGP277QK. Philips first showed the monitor at the Esports Market Empowerment and High-Resolution Gaming Display Trends Seminar in Beijing in late 2025.
This panel was VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified, with peak brightness reaching up to 500 nits in HDR content and 350nits in SDR mode. Contrast ratio is 2000: 1. Color coverage includes 96% DCI-P3, 100% sRGB, and 94% Adobe RGB. These specifications work well for competitive gaming, but HDR performance falls short compared to the Mini LED or OLED displays. The latest Evina 27M2N5500XD supports the 1ms response time and a 0.3ms Smart MBR mode for motion blur reduction. It also supports FreeSync variable refresh rate.
Philips bundles in-game tools such as Smart Sniper, Shadow Boost, and Smart Crosshair to improve aim visibility and aiming accuracy in fast-paced titles. In terms of connectivity, it includes DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20 bandwidth for the lossless high refresh rate output, HDMI 2.1 Ports, with full 48 Gbps bandwidth and a headphone jack. The monitor ships with the ergonomic stand offering height, swivel, pivot, and tilt adjustments, and if we discuss the pricing, it has not announced by the company.
