If Christian Horner wanted to keep a low profile after his Red Bull exit, he picked the wrong paddock.

The ousted Formula 1 boss made a surprise appearance at the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez on Saturday, instantly sparking chatter: is MotoGP his next move?

Horner was spotted alongside Stefano Domenicali, but it was his time inside the Honda Racing Corporation garage that really turned heads.

There, he was spotted holding discussions with HRC CEO Koji Watanabe, a familiar ally from Red Bull’s dominant Honda-powered era that delivered multiple titles in the early 2020s.

Horner Back In The Paddock

When asked about his ambitions, Horner wasn’t exactly shutting anything down.

“I have always been a big fan of MotoGP," he told the official broadcast. “While I’ve got a little bit of time, I thought it was a good opportunity to come down and have a look at the championship."

Since leaving Red Bull in 2025, Horner has stayed out of the spotlight, despite persistent links to a return to F1, most notably with Alpine, and whispers about Audi and Aston Martin projects.

But MotoGP? That’s new, but not random.

The MotoGP championship now sits under Liberty Media, the same umbrella as Formula 1. That crossover is opening doors, blending two worlds that rarely overlapped before.

“Since they own Formula 1 too, I received a very warm welcome," Horner added. “I’m simply here to take it all in… MotoGP is an incredible sport."

A Growing F1-to-MotoGP Pipeline?

Horner isn’t alone in peeking over the fence. Former Haas boss Guenther Steiner recently stepped into MotoGP ownership, leading a consortium to take over Tech3 KTM.

MotoGP is suddenly “in play" for F1 minds, with Liberty Media acting as the bridge.

So is Horner eyeing a team? Equity? A full-blown switch? Well, for now, he’s playing it cool.
