'No history of DMK forming govt twice consecutively’: TVK president Vijay at Thanjavur rally amid Tamil Nadu polls

THANJAVUR: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor Vijay attended his party’s functionaries meeting held at Ayyasamipatti near Thanjavur today. Stating that DMK has no history of forming govt in the state twice consecutively, Vijay said that even the chief minister MK Stalin’s father (M Karunanidhi) could not achieve it.

“CM (Stalin) sir says that next govt is also theirs, it will never happen, there is no history of it. The task (of returning to form govt) is longer than the length of the Great Wall of China,” Vijay said. The actor-turned politician said that vivid politics is all about meeting the people and executing solutions. He said that TVK’s intention is to work for the people. Vijay said that enemies of TVK have formed a nexus in preventing TVK from gaining public trust.

“Our enemies are not bothered about people’s feelings, but they have a pucca dealing not to allow another person to govern the state. One is drafting SOPs to stop us; another is blaming us. This is their dealing,” Vijay said in a veiled attack at DMK and AIADMK. He said that the blame started from the Karur incident and continued till Jananayagam film release. “Many voiced for Jananayagan film release including our CM gave but an elusive statement.

Whatever it is, I thank everyone who voiced,” Vijay said.He was clad in a green shawl as TVK functionaries have come from eight assembly constituencies, primarily from agrarian zone, Vijay attempted to strike a connection with agriculture and farmers' sentiments. He also accused DMK of not taking stringent actions against the sand mafia. He said that TN govt is heading for bankruptcy just like natural resources.Vijay said that he is disturbing the sleep of CM Stalin by making people question. "Farmers may appear like normal people, but they are not. They (farmers) are those who feed even the gods and helps sustain life in the world. I don't know much about the reincarnation concept, but if it is true, I would like to be born into a family of a farmer in my next birth. I accept that I do not know much about farming, but I will not deceive you by proclaiming myself as ‘Deltakaaran’,” he said.
