Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Congress, accusing it of lacking vision and political will, while asserting that India is an emerging global force in a rapidly changing world order. Speaking in the Rajya Sabha during the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address, PM Modi said the world is once again at a historic inflection point, similar to the period following the Second World War, and argued that global momentum is now tilting decisively towards India.
“There was a new world order after the Second World War, and now the world is moving towards a new world order," the Prime Minister said. “The bent is towards India, which is a vishwa bandhu — a friend to the world."
Modi framed the present moment as one of global realignment, asserting that India’s diplomatic credibility and economic engagement have positioned it as a trusted partner amid geopolitical uncertainty. He pointed to major trade agreements and strategic partnerships signed under the NDA government as evidence of this shift.
