The interchange over Bhangel Elevated Road is expected to be ready in 18 months
Noida: Noida Authority will develop a diamond-shaped interchange on the Bhangel Elevated Road, connecting it to Vishwakarma Road near Sunworld Vanalika in Sector 107. The Rs 66-crore project, to be completed in 18 months, is to have four ramps in a diamond configuration to enable continuous traffic flow and reduce congestion.
The interchange is expected to improve connectivity to 7x sectors, among others. The 4.5-km elevated road, which stretches from Agahpur pump in Sector 51 to Noida SEZ, lacked exit loops since it opened in Nov last year, leaving commuters travelling to sectors 41, 42, 47, 48, 107 and the 7x cluster — sectors 74 through 79 — unable to use it. The proposed interchange at the Hanuman Temple end in Sector 49 will provide entry and exit ramps from Vishwakarma Road, resolving the connectivity gap.

“A number of people travel on this road from Noida to Greater Noida, Surajpur and Dadri. However, there is currently no loop, so residents of nearby sectors do not use it as they cannot exit the flyover to take the Vishwakarma Road,” Noida Authority senior manager (work circle 8) Rohit Singh said. The Authority has issued a tender for the project, requiring bidders to have prior experience in constructing flyovers, elevated roads, grade separators, interchanges or loop ramps.
Brajesh Sharma, a Sector 78 resident, said there was a demand for the interchange since the elevated road opened after much delay. “This will significantly improve the road usability and save the time of people living in scores of highrise societies across the 7x sectors, Greater Noida and Greater Noida West,” he said.

The DSC Road, a key route for commuters travelling to Salarpur, Chhalera, Barola, Bhangel, Agahpur and nearby villages, has remained riddled with potholes and uneven stretches following excavation work carried out during the construction of the elevated road
Proposed in 2013, construction of the elevated road began only in June 2020, and the original Dec 2022 deadline was extended repeatedly due to funding gaps, design changes and slow approvals, with the project finally completed more than five years behind schedule.
The six-lane flyover, built at Rs 608 crore, cuts travel time between Noida and Dadri from nearly 40 minutes to about five, diverting traffic away from the heavily encroached Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera Road below. The DSC Road, a key route for commuters travelling to Salarpur, Chhalera, Barola, Bhangel, Agahpur and nearby villages, has remained riddled with potholes and uneven stretches following excavation work carried out during the construction of the elevated road. Noida Authority officials said repair work on the DSC Road stretch would begin within a week, with resurfacing to be completed before the monsoon.
