Nursing student ends life

Times News NetworkKanpur: A 19-year-old BSc (Nursing) student at Rama medical college died by hanging in her rented room in Bagdaudhi Bangar, Mandhana, under the Bithoor police station area, on Monday morning.The student was identified as Aasiya Khatoon, a resident of the Tamkuhi police station area in Kushinagar district. She was a second-year BSc (Nursing) and lived in a rented room on the second floor of the house of army personnel Vishnu Pratap in Bagdaudhi Bangar.On Monday morning, a neighbouring tenant, Rekha Singh, called out after the door did not open for a long time but received no response. On suspicion, she looked through the ventilator and saw the student’s body hanging from the fan hook with the help of a chunri.

Neelam, the sister-in-law of the house owner, informed the police.The Bithoor police and forensic team inspected the scene and collected evidence. The body was then brought down and sent for postmortem. Police also informed the student’s family and said they were gathering information about the reason for the suicide.
