Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has ordered the reduction of vehicles in his personal security convoy by half the number.

A statement issued by Chief Minister’s Office says, “in view of the oil crisis witnessed across the world due to the situation in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the citizens of the country to adopt various cost-cutting measures, particularly to reduce the use of petrol. Welcoming the PM’s appeal, Mr. Majhi has reduced by half the number of vehicles in his personal security convoy.”

“Further, giving importance to the PM’s call, the Chief Minister has urged the people to minimise the use of private vehicles and instead make greater use of public transport. He has advised that vehicles should be used only when necessary and unnecessary usage should be avoided,” the statement further says.
People were advised not to purchase gold and to avoid unnecessary foreign travel.
