Panic gripped Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district after a tanker loaded with mobil oil caught fire on National Highway-2.

According to officials, the tanker was travelling from Delhi to Kolkata when it lost control and overturned on the side of the highway. During the accident, the vehicle came into contact with an 11,000-volt high-tension power line, triggering a massive fire.

The flames quickly engulfed the tanker, turning it into a ball of fire. The blaze continued for nearly an hour, sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky and causing chaos among commuters on the busy highway.

The driver managed to jump out of the vehicle in time and escaped unhurt.

After receiving information about the incident, fire brigade teams and Saini police reached the spot. They brought the fire under control after strenuous efforts. However, mobil oil worth lakhs of rupees was reduced to ashes.

Saini police station in-charge Dharmendra Singh said that authorities responded immediately after receiving information about the fire. He confirmed that the fire brigade and police controlled the blaze and that further necessary action is underway.
