The Radhika Yadav murder is an “open and shut" case, Gurugram Police said on Sunday, clarifying that they were not adding statements from her friends or anybody who posted allegations online to the chargesheet.

The police said that the chargesheet was being filed in the case on the basis of forensic and testimonial evidence.

This comes after Himaanshika Singh, who claimed to be friends with Radhika for nearly a decade, on Sunday posted videos on her Instagram profile regarding the deceased tennis player’s life, alleging that her father – Deepak Yadav who has confessed to his crime – planned the murder three days before it took place on July 10 at their Gurugram residence.

“When I went to her residence yesterday, I came to know that her murder was being planned for the last three days. On the 10th of July, I came to know about her murder through a news article. I went to her cremation. There, I came to know that her dad had been planning the murder for the last three days. He had bought a revolver," Himaanshika claimed in the self-made video.

She also claimed that Radhika had not been keeping well for the last 10 days and had “given up" on her dreams, revealing what the daughter had allegedly told her father during one of their exchange.

“I have been with her, I knew her well. She was a very decent girl, but in the last 10 days, her life had become miserable. She had given up and said: “I’m ready to live the way you want". But her father was so out of his mind that he had no expression on his face," the friend claimed.

She had blamed Deepak’s friends for provoking him with remarks on Radhika’s clothing, makeup, and her alleged wish to become an influencer.

Himaanshika said that Radhika’s Instagram account was private and had only 69 followers, adding that she was not an influencer.

The police have said that there is no direct connection between her murder and her social media presence.

“The accused has confessed to the crime. These video statements are not part of the investigation and won’t be included in the charge sheet," Gurugram Police PRO, Sandeep Kumar, said.

The official underlined that, during interrogation, the cops specifically asked Deepak to name people who may have instigated him to kill his daughter; however, “he could not name even a single person".

The police quizzed over 20 people from Wazirabad village, including those who were close to their family, “but no one admitted to having any such conversation".

The police said that they are moving ahead to file the chargesheet in the case as the evidence collected, such as the murder weapon, Deepak’s confession, and forensic analysis, was sufficient. No other video statements by Radhika’s friends will be considered a part of the investigation, the police said.

The father had allegedly killed his daughter on July 10 morning when she was in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for her mother on her birthday.
